Mission Hills Resort Maintenance
Schedules
Aerification is the process when the greens are
lightly punched and usually top-dressed with a light layer of sand.
The greens may roll a little slow and bumpy for 7-10 days. The fairways,
tees and roughs may also be punched.
Overseeding begins with a preparation stage that
usually starts about 3-4 days before the actual closing of the golf
course. The course will be scalped of the bermuda grass in preparation
to plant the winter grass. Once the winter grass
is planted, the course is usually closed for 2 weeks. Once re-opened,
the conditions will be playable, but slow and damp for about 10-14
days. Generally the courses that normally offer the "90 degree"
cart path rule will be "cart path only" for 30-60 days
(depending on how the process takes and the weather conditions).
The Gary Player Signature Course will be closed
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the months of July and
August as follows:
- July 10, 11 and 12
- July 17, 18 and 19
- July 24, 25 and 26
- July 31 and August 1 and 2
- August 7, 8 and 9 August 14, 15 and 16
- August 21, 22 and 23 August 29, 30 and 31
