Whirlwind Golf Club - Cattail Course
The two courses at Whirlwind Golf Club, both designed by Gary Panks, have been described by Pank’s as challenging but fair. Devil’s Claw and Cattail are like a desert painting, lush and vibrant with a backdrop of the Sierra Estrella Mountains. Panks was careful to preserve the nature around him and to respect the heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. Both courses are a distinct reflection of the classic southwest, and feature native grasses, terrain, and plant life such as Cottonwood, Mesquite, Saguaro, and Palo Verde trees.

The Cat Tail course has been rated 4 stars by Golf Digest and is an excellent complement to its sister course. Cat Tail is built in deep canyons and features views of lakes, whereas the Devil’s Claw course is more elevated, boasting dramatic vistas.
